Hello
I'm Becky!
I'm navigating motherhood, living my 30's & running a small business.
The beach is my happy place, my family is my reason & memories are my passion.. there's a reason for this.
My Story
I'm going to start with the Studio, tell you a little more about what IvyBee is to me now and then work back to how I got here...
The Style
My studio is small and cosy, I pride myself on having a space that makes you feel at home, in my home! I want my clients to feel comfortable in their surroundings. Growing up our home was a hub; family, friends and neighbors were always welcome, it was a safe place. Taking your family out for photographs, especially during your most vulnerable times, can be daunting and so my heart wanted to extend that safe, welcoming feeling. I use natural lighting where possible, on very grey days a continuous LED flat light is used to mimic the natural feel. After trying different light sources, natural light is my absolute favourite- it’s less commonly used in a studio environment but works perfectly for my timeless style. I want my clients to walk away with a collection of images that they will cherish for many, many years. As fashion and interior design changes, the way that I capture these memories is to withstand the test of time.
The clientele
My career has always centered around children and families. I was employed for 10 years in the education sector, working as a teaching assistant, predominantly in early years. One thing I love about my business is that I still get to give back and provide support families, albeit in a completely different capacity.
Why photography?
As a 23 year old, planning her wedding & pregnant for the first time, I lost my mum.
I had always loved photography and when out or with friends and family they would say , "oh Becky's here, she'll get loads of pictures", but loosing mum defiantly drove home the quote:
* One day photographs will be all you have *
To add to this my eldest daughter was 7 weeks old when the first COVID lockdown was enforced, by her first Christmas I was learning and experimenting with photography on a deeper level, and my love for it grew and grew. Going back to work, I continued to follow this new passion on the side until IvyBee was born.
